Governor Information

Welcome to our Governors’ section.

Please find below details of how our Governing body is structured, including the names, categories, responsibilities and terms of appointment for each Governor.

 

What do school Governors do?

  • Support the school in planning for the future and setting targets for school improvement
  • Promote high standards of educational attainment
  • Challenge and support the Headteacher
  • Plan, review and approve the school’s budget
  • Develop and review policies and most importantly monitor pupil achievement, ensuring standards improve.
  • Participate in the appointment of senior staff (including appointing the Headteacher) and regulate staff conduct and discipline

The Governors at Bruce Grove Primary School

At Bruce Grove we have 2 sub committees: Curriculum & Standards and Resources which includes Finance, Premises and Personnel. These committees feed back into the full GB meeting. We meet regularly throughout the year.  Part One of the Meetings is open to the public and parents and carers are particularly welcome.  Please contact the chair if you wish to attend.  The Chair can be contacted through the school office.
