  • End of Year Transition for pupils in Nursery to Year 5

    Tue 07 Jul 2020

    July 6 2020

    Dear Family

    End of Year Transition

We have organised an outdoor picnic in the school grounds so pupils can come in before the end of term to say goodbye to their friends and class teacher before the summer break.  They will also have an opportunity to take home exercise books and display work and to briefly meet their new class teacher.  You will also be able to collect your child’s school report.  It will be a lovely way to mark the end of this unprecedented and challenging academic year. If it rains, we will relocate to the main hall.

At all times we will be practising social distancing and the areas used will be disinfected before and after each class.  Hand sanitiser will also be readily available.

Please send your child to school with a picnic lunch: no glass bottles, fizzy drinks, nuts or sweets.  We will ensure that additional snacks are available on the day for anyone who needs them.  Please also send in a carrier bag for exercise books etc.

Children currently attending school should still come to school at their scheduled time.  Parents can choose to provide a picnic lunch.  The school will provide one if they have universal/free school meals.

The date and time for your child’s picnic is detailed below.  It is also very important that you keep to the drop off and collection times.

    • Online MyMaths tasks will be set;
    • Timestables practice on ‘Timestables Rockstars’.

Work for the week will also be uploaded to the school website every Monday, starting March 23rd.  Please visit the children’s tab and then your child’s class page.

If your child is already absent from school, please make arrangements to collect the learning pack from the main office.  The office will be open today and on Friday until 1.30pm.  If you are unable to leave the house, please let us know and we will deliver resources to your home if you are a Haringey resident on Friday afternoon.

Families with pupils who are in receipt of free schools meals will be contacted and advised of contingency arrangements in due course.

If you are a key worker please contact the school.

If you have any safeguarding concerns and want advice, please contact Haringey Social Services using their online self-service tool on their website: haringey.gov.uk

  • Coronavirus - latest information

    Fri 13 Mar 2020

The government is closely monitoring the spread of the virus and is updating schools daily.

As of 17th March 2020, Public Health England has UPDATED their advice and now state, 'Where any person in the household of a staff member or pupil is unwell with fever and cough, the whole household needs to self-isolate for 14 days.

How to avoid catching or spreading coronavirus?

    Do

    • wash your hands with soap and water often – do this for at least 30 seconds
    • always wash your hands when you get home or into work
    • use hand sanitiser gel if soap and water are not available
    • cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve (not your hands) when you cough or sneeze
    • put used tissues in the bin straight away and wash your hands afterwards
    • try to avoid close contact with people who are unwell

    Don't

    • touch your eyes, nose or mouth if your hands are not clean

We ask that you inform the school if your family or children travel abroad at any time and also if you have any overseas visitors staying with you. If you do travel overseas please contact the school BEFORE you bring your child back to school.

We are doing everything we can at school to prevent the spread of any virus.

In the mean-time we ask that you send your children to school and keep the school informed of any travel or illness.

  • 'Find Your Brave' for Children's Mental Health Week: 3-6 Feb. 2020

    Fri 31 Jan 2020

Next week is Children's Mental Health Week.  Every year we raise awareness of the importance of one's wellbeing and mental health.  The theme this year is 'Find Your Brave'.  We will be exploring and supporting bravery in all shapes and sizes; recognising that life is full of small brave steps and that sharing your worries with an adult you trust is a brave thing to do.  We plan to develop ways to FIND YOUR BRAVE.

Towards the end of the week on Friday, we are having a non-uniform day in support of the NSPCC Number Day Initiative.  We will be having lots of maths and number fun at school and children can 'Dress up for Digits'.  We are asking for a suggested donation of £2 to help fund vital NSPCC services such as Childline and the Speak Out Stay Safe Programme.
