The overall aim of the investment of the PE Premium this academic year is to use PE to drive forward the improvement in the health and well-being of our children. We continue to focus on CPD for teachers to ensure all children have access to high quality, motivational PE lessons in which they are motivated to learn and improve. By the end of this academic year our aim is for all teachers to have been on at least one external PE course to support their professional development. In addition to this, in the Autumn term, we invested in high quality support in the planning and delivery of gymnastics to all class based teachers after identifying it as a whole school area for improvement.
We continue to work with external providers to support our own delivery of physical activity. Sports after school clubs are at their all time highest and in high demand. This year we are able to offer a larger range of clubs to cater for our children’s interests. We have established a working partnership with the Tottenham Hotspur foundation who deliver high quality lunch time activities as well as a mentoring programme for identified difficult to reach children.
Thanks to the PE Premium, PE is enjoying a raised profile within the school and we are proud to have been awarded the Sainsbury’s School Games Mark bronze level.
Please read the information below which gives details of our PE and Sport Premium Grant and how we allocate the funding.

At Bruce Grove we aim to develop teacher confidence and subject knowledge, and have invested in Haringey led CPD, which provides teachers with the opportunity to develop their skills in delivering high quality PE lessons in all areas of the curriculum throughout all phases of the school. The teachers who attend courses then share their experiences with all teachers during INSET sessions.
Throughout this academic year the PE curriculum leader is also supporting teachers in the delivery of lessons on areas identified by the class teacher where they most require support.
We continue to invest in qualified coaching for tennis in KS2 so that all teachers have experience of teaching high quality tennis lessons by the end of this academic year. In KS1 teachers are using qualified coaches to support their delivery of the core skills of Agility, Balance and Co-ordination. In addition to this, through the Haringey CPD we are beginning to follow the Bupa Start to Move approach to developing core skills in the EYFS and KS1.
We continue to run an extensive after school sports programme and have invested in qualified coaches to run some of these clubs.
An Ipad has been purchased specifically for PE use to record evidence and support lessons.
