• The Big Wheel and Big Walk Challenge 2022

  Children have been walking, riding and scootering to the school as part of the Big Wheel and Big Ride Challenge.  This initiative is to support sustainable ways to travel plus it's good exercise.  Today was the final day and pupils were invited to 'bling up their bikes' or 'soup up their scooters'.  Well done everyone who took part and many thanks to Ms. Davis who lead this event.

  Parents, Teachers and Friends Association

   

  We want to create a great PTFA at Bruce Grove Primary School. Parents are needed to run this and we aim to manage it so that it does not become too demanding.

   

  What is PTFA?

  PTFA stands for Parents & Teachers & Friends Association – it is set up to build a community around the school, improve communication between those that care about the school and to raise money for the school and for the children at the school. Money raised can be used to buy equipment/ pay for trips/ workshops / outings etc. The PTFA chooses how to best support the school and children.

   

  We need to rebuild the PTFA following the past couple of years where meetings and events have not been possible. Everyone can be part of this….

   

  The PTFA needs:-

  Chairperson            - to manage the meetings, ensure that all views are heard and plan what action to take. Liaise with school and feedback to school.

                                    Vice-Chair                - to assist Chairperson

  Secretary                 - responsible for ensuring effective communication links between Committee Members and between the PTFA and the School

  Treasurer                 - to handle money coming in and out, and purchasing of equipment and what the money raised is spent on

                                     General Members            -  Everyone who wants to help in any way, big or small, and to be kept up to date with all PTFA news

   

   

  All members can come to a meeting. Planned meetings would be once a month. Communication of the members would be by email & WhatsApp. If you have one of the four Committee roles  (Chair person/Vice Chair person/ Treasurer /Secretary) you would need access to an email account and use WhatsApp.

   

  We really want to make this a success and help give something extra to the children at Bruce Grove Primary School. It is also a chance to meet other parents, make new friends and gain new skills – come and join us!!!!

  Next Meeting is on Tuesday 9th November 2021 at 6.15.

  Parents Evening will take place on Tuesday 30^th March and Wednesday 31^st March between 3.45pm and 6pm

• MarvellousMe Coming to Bruce Grove

  Dear Family

  We delighted to let you know that we will soon be using an exciting new app called MarvellousMe.

   

  Teachers will use MarvellousMe to share wonderful news with you about your child’s/children’s learning and skills development.

   

  The MarvellousMe Parent app is free, fun and simple to use. It will help you to:

  • Have a meaningful conversation with your child about their school day.
  • Continue your child’s learning and practise topics that they’ve done in class.
  • Celebrate and reinforce their successes and positive behaviours.

  You will be able to enjoy MarvellousMe on your smartphone, tablet or online, and can easily share it with partners, carers and family members.

   

  We will send you a letter containing all the details of how you can sign up to MarvellousMe, and your special join code.

   

  Your will receive your logins details the week beginning February 1st and the account will be live the week beginning February 8^th.

• Meet the teacher - virtually!

  We will be hosting a series of Zoom meetings as an opportunity for you to meet your child’s new class teacher, familiarise yourself with new routines and find out about ways to support your child’s learning.

  The meetings will take place virtually through Zoom.  The app can be downloaded for free to a smart phone or any other device.  The link to the meeting will be sent to you nearer the time.  We do hope that you will be able to attend.  The timings are as follows:
