We started our Ancient Egyptian topic by trying to mummify ourselves.  Everyone had fun.  Who do you think made the best mummies?

Black History Month

We enjoyed listening to storytelling by Alim Kamara.  He told us an Anansi story.  Can you telling a story with lots of actions and expression?

We also learnt how to play Mancala, an African counting game.

Empire Windrush Models

We made models of the Empire Windrush at home.

Science Week

During Science week we learnt about space in an inflatable planetarium.  We made and investigated the best way to make our rockets fly.

Investigating Sound

In Science we have been investigating how sound travels  through different materials.

We also made string telephones and investigated which worked best.

The Library of Everything

A mysterious bookcase magically appeared next to our classroom.  With an old book from Peter, the librarian who follows the bookcase, we were able to enter the Library of Everything.  We were given an important job to write stories to fill an empty shelf in the library.

Ancient Egypt

We were transported back in time to Ancient Egyptian times.  We learnt about their daily life and jobs  which included making bread, oil, oil lamps, cartouches, canopic jars, perfume cones, charms, paintings and scrolls.

We ended the day the day with a banquet and entertainment.
