Welcome back! The children have settled well into life in Year 2 and I look forward to a hardworking year with the class.
Our topic this half term is called 'From A to B' and it is all about transport.
For Science week, we went inside a planetarium to learn all about planets and our solar system.
We then had a go at making our own rockets out of paper. We also tried to test which balloon rockets would go fastest along a piece of string.
For our new Science topic, Healthy Me, Suad (mother of Khalid from class 3D) came to talk to Year 2 all about being and staying healthy. We also practised washing 'germs' off our hands and Suad then inspected them with a UV light to see how well we had done.
For our Christmas hoop decoration we made origami Santas. We learnt that 'origami' means 'folded paper' in Japanese. We followed the instructions really well and all made our own ones for the display.
In Maths we played a game using maps and directional language such as: north, south, east, west.
